If you live near Salisbury in the northern suburbs of Adelaide, the Little Para Trails are a great place to get away from it all. The trails follow the Little Para River some thirteen kilometres from behind the Old Spot Hotel on Main North Road
to the Whites Road Wetlands and Globe Derby.
The wetlands are particularly beautiful in winter when there has been a lot of rain.
From Globe Derby you can join up with the Dry Creek Trail which takes you all the way up to Wynn Vale Dam.
The Little Para River meanders through a string of reserves. My favorite is Carisbrooke Park with its winding gravel tracks
and red cliffs.
Of course I can’t write about the Little Para Trails without mentioning Cycle Salisbury and the wonderful volunteer ride leaders, such as Jim. Cycle Salisbury rides are a great way to get started on the trails and to meet other cyclists. Join our Facebook Group to get members’ tips on which rides would be best for your cycling ability.

Another great cycling path in the area is the Edinburgh Bikeway.
Thanks for the positive post Helen. You also are doing a FABULOUS job with the uncool cycling club…and getting ‘more bums on bikes’. Keepup the AWESOME work ! Cheers, Jim
Great Photos and send up for the Salisbury Para Trails Helen. Congratulations once again.
